True Layer Duplicator script for After Effects

True Layer Duplicator is a Powerful and Free Script that Duplicates a Comp hierarchy including subcomps for Layers and Comps.

It resembles True Comp Duplicator Just with a Twist- It works on Comp Based Layers!

This tool will duplicate all selected layers but will also duplicate the inner Hierarchy of the layers.

This will save you the time of manually duplicating and replacing the relevant layers (with or without TrueComp duplicator), while keeping the changes made to the original layer.

The installation is pretty straight forward and with a few steps you can set a Shortcut to launch the script as a regular command (Ctrl+Alt+D on PC / Alt+D on Mac).  Watch the Tutorial

Installation:

  1. Extract the True Layer Duplicator.jsxbin for the Zip file and place it in the Scripts folder:
    • PC: Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects ##\Support Files\Scripts\ 
    • Mac: Applications/Adobe After Effects ##\Scripts\
  2. Restart After Effects.

Setting the Keyboard Shortcut (CC2018 or Above)

  1. Open the Keyboard Shortcuts window from Edit Menu. (CC2018 or Above*)
  2.  Search for “dup” in the search field (figure #1), click the empty shortcut box right to the True Layer Duplicator.jsxbin and press Ctrl+Alt+D on the keyboard (Alt+D on Mac)(figure #2) and press OK to confirm.

Creating the Ctrl+Alt+D Shortcut (CC2017 or Below)

Usage:

Select a Comp Based Layer in the Timeline and press Ctrl+Alt+D (Alt+D on Mac) Watch the Tutorial

ArrowHead v1.3.4 update

Updating to the new version of After Effects 2020 (build 17.0.5), causes early versions of ArrowHead to not load properly.

Last week we successfully launched a fix for this issue with version 1.3.4 of ArrowHead. If you plan to update After Effects to this version please download the update from your account page. this update requires you license key so make sure you have it.

ArrowHead will also notify you for this new update if you work on previous versions of After Effects and ArrowHead, so you will have a smooth transition between versions.

Avid to AE subs script for After Effects

Avid to AE Subs is a Time saving and Free Script that imports an Avid txt file as text layers into After Effects Timeline.

The beauty of this script is that all you need to do is to select a text layer and activate the script.

This script was created to automate our pipeline in “Reshet 13” channel, between the offline Avid editors and the Online After Effects editors and saved us tons of hours and tears!

This will magically create text layers with the right content at the precise timing according to Avid’s timeline, and visually based on the selected text layer.

This will save you the time of manually creating the text layers, which is the most boring job that you can do… I’d rather flip burgers instead!

The installation is pretty straight forward just placing a file in the Scripts folder.

FontMate v1.1 update is here!

Today we release a great Update for our global font changer/manager- FontMate for After Effects.

Update v1.1 includes stability improvements but above all, a new Ability- Source Text keyframes fonts!

With this new update FontMate is now able to change fonts that are keyframed on the source text property.

What do you need to do to use this new feature? absolutely nothing! FontMate will automatically check for the source text keyframes and selectively change their fonts– by you definition of font style and target.

You can download v1.1 on your account page or by pressing the Check for Updates button in FontMate’s cog button.

RTL Text preset

RTL Text is a Time saving and Free Preset for After Effects that is used to easy support right to left languages like Hebrew and Arabic.

This preset helped me a lot during RTL projects, and even helped me adapting templates to Hebrew and Arabic while used with FontMate‘s ability to apply presets on multiple text layers at a time.

Installation:

  1. Extract the RTL Text.ffx for the Zip file and place it in the Scripts folder:
    • ~\Documents\Adobe\Adobe After Effects ##\User Presets\ 
  2. Restart After Effects or refresh presets list.

Usage:

  • Apply to an existing text layer
  • Double-Click the preset when no layer is selected to get an empty RTL text layer
